Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes!
This quarter students are listening to the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. This is a story about a Japanese girl who develops cancer after being exposed to the nuclear bomb in Hiroshima during World War II. Students will enjoy listening to Sadako's determination to make 1,000 paper cranes.
Art Connection!! ~~ Miss Alexander, our very talented Art teacher has teamed up with the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade students to make 1,000 paper cranes that can be displayed in our school!
If you're interested in learning how to make some paper cranes and maybe even send some in, the attached link is a Youtube video clip on to make one.
